Brighten a Child's Holiday: Join Gelson's Annual Toy Drive!

Gelson’s customers are encouraged to participate in its annual toy drive to benefit disadvantaged children across the region. Customers who visit select locations across Southern California can donate a toy between December 1 and 22. Each store will have a red bin or wrapped box for donation drop-off. The annual toy drive will also occur internally at Gelson’s corporate office and warehouse.
Returning partner organizations for the toy drive include the Children’s Hospital of LA, Miracles for Kids, and Promises2Kids.
- Toy Promises2Kids: 12/1 – 12/19 - San Diego - La Costa, Del Mar and Pacific Beach
- Miracle for Kids: 12/1 – 12/22 - Orange County - Dana Point, Newport Beach, Rancho Mission Viejo, and Santa Ana
- CHLA: 12/1 – 12/22 – Calabasas, Century City, Encino, Hollywood, La Canada, Manhattan Beach, Marina Del Rey, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Sherman Oaks, Silver Lake/Los Feliz, Tarzana, Valley Village, West Hollywood, West Los Angeles, Gelson's Corporate Offices and Warehouse.
Toy Suggestions:
We can only accept new and unwrapped gifts for infants, children, and adolescents to prevent infection.
INFANTS TO AGE 5 – Rattles, Interactive crib toys/musicals, soft baby dolls, building blocks, balls, toys, educational books, educational toys, and bubbles.
AGE 6 TO AGE 13 – Toys, Play-Doh, crafts, art supplies, colors, coloring books, toys, superhero action figures, Hello Kitty items, bubbles, cars, dinosaurs, dolls, and Barbies.
AGE 13 TO AGE 18 – Board games, makeup, nail polishes, LA sports team swag, Bath & Body Works sets for older girls, CDs, MP3 players, wallets, sports balls, white art paper, markers, video games, and purses.
ALL AGES – Socks, slippers, hats, beanies, PJs, gift cards, movies, books, backpacks/sports bags, blankets, and clothing.
Things We Cannot Accept
Stuffed toys or toys with small pellets or beans. Toys should be sturdy and free of any parts which may pinch. Please avoid toys that can break easily and leave sharp edges (i.e. made of glass or brittle plastic). Toys that are designed to promote aggressive behaviors (e.g. toy weapons of any kind or violent video games or movies). No food.
