A Message From Our President Regarding The Wildfires
2025-01-08
(Update)
To Our Valued Customers,
As we all continue to navigate the effects of the recent wildfires, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your ongoing generosity and compassion. Together, we are showing the resilience that defines us as Angelenos and as part of the Gelson’s family.
This week, I’m proud to share that our checkstand campaign has now raised an impressive $42,000, with Gelson’s committed to matching up to $50,000. We are very close to meeting that goal. These funds are directly supporting recovery efforts through our carefully selected charity partners, including the CD11 Foundation, LACCD Education Fund, California Fire Foundation, World Central Kitchen founded by Chef José Andrés, Friends in Deed Shelter, and the Animal Wellness Foundation. Each of these organizations is doing vital work to rebuild lives, care for displaced animals, and support those most affected by the wildfires.
We also continued our efforts on the ground in the community, serving meals to first responders and neighbors in Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica with the support of our vendor partners. These gatherings have been heartwarming reminders of the importance of standing together during challenging times. Whether it’s reconnecting with familiar faces or offering a comforting meal, moments like these remind us why showing up for our community matters so much.
Once again, thank you to everyone who has donated, shared a kind word, or offered support in any way. Your efforts have made a real difference, proving how powerful it is when we uplift each other.
Please be sure to follow us on Facebook or Instagram for ongoing updates.
Together, we rise.
With gratitude,
Ryan Adams

To Our Valued Customers,
As Angelenos and our Gelson’s family continue to recover from the devastating wildfires, our focus remains on the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and communities.
Our priority has been supporting our team members from the Pacific Palisades store. We are proud to share that each of them has been warmly welcomed into one of our 26 other locations, providing stability and continuity during this challenging time. Hearing stories of these employees reconnecting with familiar customers in their new stores has been a poignant reminder of the close-knit bonds we all share.
This past week, our Gelson’s team, alongside our generous vendor partners, came together to thank and provide meals to first responders and neighbors in need at our La Cañada and Calabasas locations. It was a meaningful opportunity to express our gratitude to those on the front lines and to support individuals whose lives have been disrupted. We’re excited to host similar events in the Palisades and Santa Monica later this week.
We are also thrilled to share that, thanks to your incredible generosity, our checkstand campaign has raised over $30,000 to date. With Gelson’s matching donations up to $50,000, these funds are already making a significant impact on recovery efforts.
We are profoundly grateful for the unwavering support of our communities. To everyone who has reached out, donated, or volunteered, your kindness and compassion are making a lasting difference. Together, we are stronger, and your efforts continue to inspire hope and resilience.
Thank you for being an essential part of this journey.
Warm regards,
Ryan Adams

To Our Valued Customers,
The wildfires affecting our region have brought devastating loss and disruption to our communities. With a heavy heart, we share that our Palisades store has been completely lost to the fires. This store was more than just a place to shop—it was a cornerstone of the community, and we grieve this loss alongside the team members, customers, and neighbors who called it their own.
Now that mandatory evacuation has been lifted in La Cañada, our La Cañada store is open to serve our community. We are deeply grateful to all the first responders who bravely fought against the Eaton fire, ensuring the safety of our community and our store. Additionally, we are extraordinarily thankful to report that our Calabasas store has reopened and is ready to serve our community.
Our thoughts are with everyone affected by these tragedies. We are committed to supporting our employees during this challenging time, ensuring they have access to resources and aid as they navigate their own hardships.
As a company deeply rooted in the communities we serve, we are committed to exploring every avenue to assist in recovery efforts. We will stand with our neighbors, supporting and working together to rebuild what has been lost.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate this difficult time. Your support means everything to us, and we are hopeful for the future as we work together to rebuild and recover. We will keep you updated as the situation evolves.
