Apple-Cranberry Tuna Salad

love the particular brand of low-mercury, low-sodium, omega-3-rich tuna (the omega-3 fats are in the liquid, so don?t drain it off) that I use here. This recipe is great for women and children since they need to be especially vigilant of eating enough omega-3-rich fish that is low in mercury. Plain yogurt is an excellent substitute for mayonnaise here. This particular yogurt comes from grass-fed cows, so it also contains omega-3s. Enjoy this recipe on a bed of mixed salad greens, on a delicate cracker, such as Kavli crispy thins, or on top of a slice of Food for Life Ezekiel toast.

  • 2 6-ounce cans Wild Planet no salt added tuna with juices
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon Straus Family Creamery organic plain whole milk yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Napa Valley organic olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons organic onion, finely minced
  • 2 heaping tablespoons Earthbound Farm organic dried cranberries
  • 1/2 organic Fuji apple, diced small with the skin
  • 1/4 teaspoon Le Saunier de Camargue fleur de sel sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried dill
  1. In a medium bowl, combine tuna with juices, yogurt, and olive oil. Use a fork to combine ingredients and break up the tuna. Stir in the onion, cranberries and apple pieces and season with salt and dill.
