GIFT CARD FACTS Where can I purchase a gift card? You can purchase a gift card at any Gelson's checkout lane. Payment may be made via cash, personal check, debit card, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Gelson's charge card, or by money order or cashier's check. Please fill in our Call Back Request and someone will call you. Currently Gelson's does not offer the ability to purchase gift cards online. Are gift cards sold in specific denominations? Gift cards are available in $25, $50 and $100 denominations. However, we also sell gift cards to which you can add any value (for instance, $10, $60, $150). The maximum value of a gift card is $500. Where can I use the gift card? The card can be used at any Gelson's Market (17 locations in Southern California). You can see all of our locations on our stores page. The cards cannot be redeemed at our bakeries or pharmacies; however, you may pay for your bakery or pharmacy purchase at the regular checkout and use your gift card there. Our Newport Beach bakery and coffee bar can accept Gelson's gift cards. I own a business and I would like to purchase gift cards for my customers and employees. Do you sell gift cards to businesses? Definitely! Please fill in our Call Back Request and someone will call you. What is the current balance on my gift card? You can inquire about your balance at any register before the start of a transaction. Additionally, your card balance will appear at the bottom of your register receipt whenever you use the gift card to pay for your purchase. Or, have your gift card handy and call 800-664-0872 to inquire. What is a gift card? A gift card is like cash - please protect it like cash, as the card cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. The gift card can be used at any Gelson's Market. Simply present the gift card to the checker at the completion of your transaction, and the amount of your purchase will be deducted from the card. If the transaction is for an amount greater than the balance of your gift card, you can pay for the remaining balance with any tender (cash, another gift card, personal check, credit card, debit card or Gelson's charge card).

Does my gift card expire? Gift cards do not expire. However, if the card has not been used for 24-months, it will be inactivated. To re-activate the card, bring it into any Gelson's Market for assistance. Gelson’s does not charge service or dormancy fees. My card no longer works. Can it be replaced? Of course. Please take your card to the nearest Gelson's location. I lost my gift card/my gift card was stolen, but I have the gift card number. Can you cancel or replace the card? Lost or stolen gift cards are not replaceable. What forms of payment do you accept? We accept cash, personal checks, credit card, debit card and Gelson's charge card. Please note that checks are subject to approval by the store management. Can a gift card be used to purchase another gift card? Absolutely. Can I consolidate my gift cards onto one gift card? Store management will be happy to help you to consolidate your gift cards. How many gift cards can I use during one transaction/purchase? There is no limit to the number of gift cards you can use during one transaction. Can anyone use my gift card? Yes! You can pass it along to someone else to use if you so choose; protect the card as it is just like cash. Are there any discounts or other incentives offered with the purchase or use of the gift card? Currently there are no discounts in place. However, if you belong to a non-profit organization such as a school, church or synagogue, you can contact our Scrip department to learn about purchasing cards as a fundraiser. The Gift Card Coordinator at 310-638-2842 ext. 271 can give you more information. What happens when all the card value is used? Should I throw the card away? The cards cannot be reloaded with value and can be discarded once the value of the card is zero.
